Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Chicago Lost and Found” sneakers
At the end of 2022, Nike completely broke the sneakerverse by releasing the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Chicago Lost & Found.’ Regarded by many as the sneaker of the year (or SOTY, for all you zealots out there), these sold out within seconds of dropping. Dreams were smashed and hopes were shattered on that very day, with many fans taking L after L (after L). If you, like everyone else, were also left traumatised by this, we come bearing good news: the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Chicago Lost & Found’ is finally getting a restock, and it’s coming very soon.
The first shoe to drop as part of Jordan Brand’s ‘Reimagined’ series (which was followed by the Air Jordan 3 ‘White Cement’ last month), the ‘Lost & Found’ is an almost one-to-one remake of the original Air Jordan 1 from 1985. Featuring the same red, white, and black palette, it’s crafted from a full leather construction but with a pre-aged effect that gives it an old school vibe.
There’s even more cracked leather to the collar, and the Air midsole underfoot has been slightly yellowed. Brand new, but looking archival. To keep in line with the retro theme, each ‘Lost & Found’ comes packed in an era-accurate shoebox complete with faux receipts that are identical to those from the original ’80s release.
Thanks to Ben Affleck’s Air, hype surrounding the OG ‘Chicago’ colourway has reached an all time high. Considered to be the most legendary basketball shoe ever made, it was designed by Peter Moore and was made specifically for Michael Jordan. While signing b-ball players was nothing new at the time, this was significant in that MJ was but a rookie back in 1985, and creating an all-new sneaker line for someone who had never even set foot on a NBA court was totally unheard of, even by today’s standards. Better yet, the Jordan family renegotiated the standard. sponsorship deal of the time by taking a cut of the sales.
Announced via the Nike SNKRS app, an official date for the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Chicago Lost & Found’ restock has yet to be confirmed, but expect it so be sometime within the next few weeks. That should give you more than enough time to pray for that W.
